Makes 4 servings

  • 1/2 (17.65 oz) pkg puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberry jam
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp confectioners’ sugar

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. On a floured surface, unroll 1 sheet puff pastry. Roll into an 11–inch square and cut into quarters. With a fork, prick holes all over pastry. Place pastry squares on baking sheet.
2. In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Spoon 1/4 of cream cheese mixture onto the center of each piece of dough, spreading slightly.
3. In another bowl, stir together the fresh blueberries, jam, and cinnamon. Spoon over cream cheese mixture. Pick up opposite corners of each pastry square and pinch dough together tightly to close over filling, leaving ends open.
4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with 1 tbsp water and brush along edges and tops of pastry. Bake 20 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack before dusting with confectioners’ sugar.
